Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for development and achievement of the company business plan.  As MD, will be accountable for protecting and employing assets to achieve set targets for return on invested capital and creating a culture that embraces empowerment and teamwork while significantly growing revenue and EAT.
  • Key responsibilities related to revenue generation include: identifying opportunities for growth and removing barriers to growth; interfacing with existing customers to gain additional business and find new customers for future business. The MD is also expected to take a lead role in developing and maintaining relationships with manufacturers and redistribution suppliers/brokers which are key to success in the business.
  • Will maintain, enhance and further develop the company leadership and company workforce.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required.
  • MBA desired.
  • Should possess 20 + years in food service distribution and/or redistribution industry.
  • Strong food service knowledge, with retail/restaurant and alternative market knowledge, i.e. Education/Schools, Correctional Facilities, Retirement Communities/Home, Secondary Retail and Offshore.
  • Must have 10+ years of experience in executive/senior management leadership roles.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills required.
  • Strong experience level required in leading and mentoring sales and purchasing teams.
  • Extensive working knowledge and experience in the Food Service Industry, specifically in food service distribution and redistribution business segments.
  • Ability to manage projects (on time, within budget, achieve success criteria) to ensure positive business outcomes.
  • The ability to develop project plans, allocate resources, identify potential issues/risks and develop contingency plans.
