  • To establish a representative line of merchandise in the assigned category which will enable all stores to achieve their sale target while maintaining a strong competitive position.
  • To source the right suppliers, negotiate the best prices, good product quality, on time delivery in order to achieve company goals agreed upon in the seasonal operational plan.
  • To achieve the seasonal estimate for the category both in pairs and turnover.
  • To achieve assigned stock rotation annually based on official yearly budget.
  • To achieve the desired gross profit goals in accordance with yearly budget.
  • Visit stores on a weekly basis to access the value of our product line and needs and analyze the competition.
  • To ensure that each store has collections and supply of merchandise which will optimize business possibilities.
  • To initiate sales promotions and to produce the merchandise for these promotions in good time.
  • To strictly adhere to the Company’s Liquidation Policy.
  • To ensure that no merchandise which is older than 1 year is kept in stock.
  • To ensure that the warehouse has copies of all orders placed including quality specifications and sample of all shoes bought.
  • To carry out the spot quality checks and monitor distribution activities while visiting the warehouse.
  • To regularly visit the claims department and to examine claims which have been returned from the stores.
  • To study and analyze market condition, economic trends and competition.
  • To develop and train subordinates in order to provide a back-up of promotable personnel and thus build an effective merchandising organization.
  • To attend meetings, conferences and courses organized by the Company locally and overseas.
  • To be able to perform costing analysis on purchased merchandise.
  • To ensure all purchased merchandise are accompanied by a detail retail price calculation.
  • To carry out any other jobs/assignments that may be assigned to you by the Company from time to time.
